How can there be NO special HEAVY ARMOR with any kind of effects or buffs in a world otherwise littered with magical items that cater to every other class & build?
  • Paladin should begin with HEAVY ARMOR. You have a potential 2H wielding Paladin with 14AC being a frontline fighter for a class that traditionally has +0 DEX modifier. A mage can have more AC than a starting Paladin. Unacceptable.
Please. Str builds are massively nerfed without access to good (or even decent) Heavy Armor.

Paladin is already incredibly MAD (Str+Con+Cha), but now we additionally need to have good Dex?!?! Nah.

Yes, this.

I wonder if there is a fear of providing heavy armor too early that might be leftover from designing for other games or editions? 5e is balancing it pretty well, I think. No one is going to be masterfully sneaking around in Full Plate. A Githyanki wizard still needs to spend a whole feat to get heavy with an AC near that of a Dexy ranger (who can use a shield - that would be another feat for the Gith Wiz.)
