As it goes, if you do not save Sazza, then she is murdered in her cage - that is, killed while being a helpless prisoner of war - by someone, presumably the druids, by the time you get back and the assault is happening.

As an Ancients paladin, freeing her in no way violates any of your oaths; no punishment levied against her now will undo the harm she's done, and leaving her to the druids is just permitting base vengeance. By freeing her, you're actually actively upholding one of your oath's tenets - that of showing mercy and of preserving life where possible.
