Our lovable Blade of Frontiers has awful stats for what he seems to be intended to be; a Pact of the Blade Warlock. The Pact of the Blade isn't implemented yet, but he gets rapier proficiency for free and is styled as a swordsman in presentation.

Currently he has the statline:
9 / 13 / 15 / 14 / 11 / 16

Keeping with the Standard Array build, I suggesting changing it to:
9 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 11 / 16

This would increase his to hit bonus with his sword by 1, increase his AC by 1 and set him up for a half-feat like Moderately Armored or similar to build on his Bladelock progression, all without sacrificing our ability to build him as a more caster focused Warlock.

That's fine, but I think it's essential to add the Hexblade for melee warlocks. Then they can utilize charisma for their melee weapon attacks. The sub-class utterly overpowered, and a no-brainer one level dip for any character that uses Charisma, but it is what it is.

I definitely want Hexblades, but Wyll is alerady a Fiend Warlock and his personal story seems to be reliant on that. So I'd very much like to see his stats be usable as a Fiend Bladelock, even if it has to be done with Standard Array.

Wyll can not be hexblade canonically, since we already know his patron, and unless the weapons in this game are a bit more creative than I expected, Mizora is not a sword wink
I still think the solution is adding hex warrior to the otherwise very underpowered pact of the blade.

I also think Wyll’s stats should be reallocated. However, I disagree on the recommended allocation based on standard array. Standard array is quite punishing for humans, as it results in 4 odd stats, essentially meaning the the racial bonus from being human is entirely wasted.

In dialogue, he is portrayed as neither being particularly intelligent or wise. So, I think INT and WIS should be dump stats, as it is consistent with how he is portrayed.

Here is my recommended stat allocation for Wyll:

(Finesse and high AC Wyll)
STR: 11
DEX: 16
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHA: 16

or

(Shovin’, Jumpin’, and Blastin’ and maybe a hexblade Wyll)
STR: 14
DEX: 14
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHA:16

I agree that this would be a better spread for Wyll, if we’re sticking with standard array. Do all the companions use standard arrays? Embarrassingly I never noticed, but now that I look at SH I see she does. (I’m being lazy just checking her, but I’ve recently started a new run so she’s the only person currently in my party.)
