Yes, main use is not killing the hag because you want to have her hair for the power (+1 to any stat)
You need to bring her below 20 HP, which is dangerous normally, but very easy if you use a martial and nonlethal attacks. A bit metagamey though I guess (since your character does not know about the hag her at that point)
