And I sort of ruined the roleplay element for myself because I was interested in playing an Oathbreaker but as a meaningful choice that had some moral justification rather than just by killing neutrals or criminality, but because oath adherence doesn’t feel fully implemented yet I just ended up playing a very unpaladin-y paladin
That was my experience as well. My first go at patch 9, I thought it would be fun to try a drow oathbreaker who winds up allying with Minthara, and it was... off. After we sacked the grove, I gave up and restarted with a much more paladiny tief paladin, and it's holding my interest far more than 7 or 8 had (though it feels like there are fewer tiefling racial interactions than previously).
