Preface
In the midst of more crucial suggestions that are being made here, here's a more light-hearted one where I've just let my imagination run wild 💛

Introduction
I would love to be able to have different color options for the animation of three specific spells :
1) Magic Missile
2) Eldritch Blast
3) Faerie Fire

The goal would be to offer a more magical, fun and RP/immersion friendly version of the existing version of those spells.

Context
1) Magic Missile
Quote
Description (PHB) : You create three glowing darts of magical force [...]

Spell Lists : Sorcerer, Wizard

The original description of the spell doesn't indicate the color of the darts. So, it's fairly up for interpretation.
In Baldur's Gate 3, the color red is associated with the "force" damage type and, as such, the darts are displayed in red color. Understandable.

However, I think that iconic spell used by most Wizards and Sorcerers could be adapted to fit miscellaneous Tavs by simply offering some alternative color options for the spell.
To illustrate, it was particularly weird for my frosty sorcerer (Silver Dragon Bloodline) to use that color. Kinda ruined the aesthetic 👁️👄👁️ and didn't make sense to me from a RP/immersion stand-point. But I'm sure it's odd for other sub-classes as well.

After all, the spell has been previously depicted using various colors.
This includes depictions in pertinent material like the PHB or the Forgotten Realms comics (example : "the Legends of Baldur's Gate") :

2) Eldritch Blast
Quote
Description (PHB) : A beam of crackling energy streaks toward a creature within range [...]

Spell Lists : Warlock

Like Magic Missile, the description doesn't specify a color and thus, the color red, associated with force damage-type, was used in Baldur's Gate 3.

Again, as Magic Missile, this doesn't really fit the "theme" of certain sub-classes for Warlocks. Even just the ones with an Archfey as patron.

Admittedly, the inspiration for this post was a MOD that uses different color for that spell depending on the sub-classes, examples for the PHB sub-classes :

  • Fiend (see animation HERE)

  • Archfey (see animation HERE)

3) Faerie Fire
Quote
Description (PHB) : Each object in a 20-foot cube within range is outlined in blue, green, or violet light (your choice). [...]

Spell Lists : Artificer, Bard, Druid

The PHB description does specify colors and states that the player can choose.
I understand that it's simpler to have it always white, but having the choice would be really nice.

Suggestion

1) The color of those spells can be freely picked during character creation OR would depend on the class/sub-class (my preferred solution) of the character.
2) The color of Faerie Fire can be picked when cast via a sub-menu in the hotbar.

This is a fantasy game/universe, this type of details can really add to the fantastical/magical atmosphere of the universe and could make things fun ^^ and existed.

Thank you for the read, that was a long one 😅
