I've given up trying to play well and just spam Long Rests and stealth exploits ad infinitum. And the gameplay does feel really braindead.

In my first playthrough ever I tried not to rest because of the urgent tadpole situation. I felt cheated when it was revealed that it was just a bunch of nonsense and the tadpoles were just there to give you fun powers and more Bonus Actions.

In the final release of the game, I want to see a meaningful Long Rest system that makes the game feel like D&D. And a reward for NOT using the tadpoles, and a way to actually get rid of them. I really can't justify any smart PC using those powers and not wanting to get a shadow magic parasite that could mind control you or kill you at any time, out of your head.
