Please NEVER say something positive to shove as a bonus action. That, and the ridicoulous frog jumping still break a lot of the whole 5E combat system...
as for the outleveling...you can certainly clear all encounters without cheese with lvl 4 and decent equipment...even with some NPCs (like the gith patrol with too many actions/round) quite overpowered compared to their actual level.
I would like some more challenge to some encounters but i am always annoyed when games just do it by raising stats.
