Generally, in the past Larian has been pretty good in keeping difficulty curve even. I never felt overleveled in any of the previous titles, in spite of completionist playstyle, so that is not something I terribly worry for BG3.
Adjusting XP spread should be easy enough for them to do, once they have all content in.
