Hi,
I have an Apple Silicon Mac Book Pro with external monitor.
My external monitor is connected via the HDMI connector on the MacBook Pro M1. The external Monitor is selected as primary screen.
However BG3 is always (!) started on the Macbook Pro's monitor. Whatever I do, change the monitor settings in the game to the external monitor then apply, when I quit the game and start it again, the monitor settings are set again on the MacBook Pro's screen and not the external monitor.

Resolution, Sound and other settings are saved after apply, but it looks like the monitor choice is not saved and reverts to the MacBook Pro monitor every time.
I tried Full Screen, Fake full screen and windows. All the same result.
So after every new start of the game, I have to select the external monitor again to play it on that screen.

Does any one have any clue how to set it to start on the external monitor when a game starts?

One thing perhaps that could be a clue:
In the MacOS settings both screens are names called "MacBookProM1". And that cant be changed.
Both these names are also seen in the monitor choice within the game settings.

It's Now Jan 7 2023 and I am seeing the exact same things.
I run Mac Studio Ultra, Studio display and 2 additional LG monitors on OS Ventura

This gets very annoying having to fix every time I want to play.

Almost a year and seems no fix.

One way I'm getting around this issue is to always play the game in windowed mode (from video options). Once you have the window on the right screen, full-screen it with the green button and it works. The game seems to always start in a smaller window this way.

As Mac users, we also have to accept that Mac gamers make a very small % of the user base, and therefore are not as high of a priority. I'm just happy to be able to play this game on my MBP.

don't see why you are telling us Mac doesn't let you set default screens so its nothing to do with Larian but if it makes you feel better Windows is also anal and the only OS i know that allows you to set a custom default is linux
