I'd like the movement mechanic automatically (or have a toggle to) avoid damage on the ground--fire/acid/poison/etc. Excluding un-perceived traps of course. Other turn based games I play do this.

Also when I click on an enemy to melee attack them I want my character to automatically move as close to the enemy as my movement points allow. Currently, if I don't have enough movement points for my melee attack to reach them clicking on them simply does nothing, I have to tediously hover my mouse to find the movable spot closest to them.

Also, when you hover your mouse over foes portrait icons the attached mouse-over info obscures other info on the critters portrait. Maybe make the mouse dimmed.

Thanks

Interesting. The game does this (or tries to, when there’s a viable path) outside combat, but if you’re thinking of in combat then I guess, the way Larian have implemented it, walking around ground effects rather than through would use more movement so sometimes I’d rather my characters walked through and accepted the damage than round and didn’t get where I wanted them to. Or I’d rather they jumped over the dangerous surface, but again as Larian have implemented Jump as a bonus action I wouldn’t want my characters to do this automatically as I might prefer to keep it for something else. As it stands, I don’t see any easy way of introducing auto avoiding of surfaces in combat that doesn’t introduce (in my view) more problems than it solves. I guess a toggle wouldn’t do me any harm, but I can’t see I’d ever have it turned on as I’d always want to be able to choose the path my characters take. Though I agree manually walking them round dangerous surfaces in the most movement efficient way is fiddly with the current setup, so I completely see why you’ve suggested it!

Does it not? I can’t believe how many hours I’ve played this game and if you’d asked me how it behaved in this scenario I wouldn’t have been able to say for certain. Again, I can see both sides. If my character can’t reach in melee, I often don’t want to run as close as I can. I’d usually prefer to dash or make a ranged attack, and then take up a position that will benefit my character over the next turn. Given it’s not always 100% clear whether my character can reach an enemy when it’s a close call (sometimes there’s a bit of red on the movement line but you can reach anyway, sometimes it’s difficult to see a little bit of red), again I personally would probably prefer the game not to auto move me in this situation but to give me clear feedback that a melee attack isn’t achievable by not doing anything and let me decide what to do instead. But it wouldn’t be totally out of order for the game to expect me to look at the movement indicator more carefully to help decide whether my character could make it and, if not, only click to attack if I wanted my character to move in a straight line as close as they could.
