Scions are a big deal for elven culture, but what they really are? The status of scions isn't directly correlates to Tir-Cendelius godwokens, like Sebille being the prime scion, but they somehow are very important for elves as sudo-leaders.
In share-the-source ending, the best one for everyone, elves split into two faction : one who wanted ancestor trees(like Mother tree) and another who wanted to be ruled by scions. But who are the scions and how they're selected?

That ending isn't quite the best for everyone, albeit it tries to be. "People" like Gareth will complain about it.

Scions are elves with special abilities.

They aren't nearly as powerful as mother trees so it doesn't really make sense since mother trees literally have the ability to give birth to dyads who are "invincible in combat" according to the shadow prince and the elf right next to the mother tree confirms this isn't a fiction.
