There is nothing really game breaking or too annoying but I wish this quest had been slightly more developed.

The chest quest is a bit confusing.

Firstly, none of the NPC was very clear that opening the chest will make it unsellable. They simply said: "it's not worth trying" I realized that only after I have opened the chest (based on the quest updates). The both guys were around and said nothing when I tried to pick up the lock. Because the deal is off, my character went and actually slaughtered them to avoid complications in Baldur's Gate (I am fully aware this is early access and things may happen way different at post release but it is still the logical course of action for a character). I only realized after the carnage that I could simply pick up the whole chest and send it to camp.

Second (and that's what annoyed me a bit more), in the Zhentarim hideout you get tasked to find the chest. I think it could have been great if you could complete that quest by bluffing your way... Say "All were slaughtered and they were looted". Instead you had to choose between leaving that quest pending or stupidly admitting you have opened the chest. I opted for the latter out of inquisitiveness but it is not what a character with a criminal background will likely do. I wish I could have deceived the Zhentarim.

That's more or less it.

Yeah that area was always underdeveloped since day one of EA, work in progress.

Right now the caravan leader Rugan somehow gets to hideout AND manages to get tortured in the same time it takes us just to walk there or tp from the gnolls. Even if he never leaves the cave at all, weird but ok.

You can completely miss "find the missing shipment" quest and you end up killing everyone for no reason.

Just because as a player you stumbled on to the caravan first and not their hideout it shouldn't mean you fail the quest and they go hostile. Had that happen to me even if i never opened the chest. What's the big deal if i open it anyway? But again, they go hostile even if you don't.
Somehow making a deal with Rugan is a no no and the game is vague on what the deal even is. What happened to negotiations or let say double-crossing, and triple-crossing etc they are mercenaries and that should give players options.
So that part is underdeveloped, same as Stealth approach all sorts of werid things happen if you sneak around or go invisible.

Devs always have problems with making shady underground quests like this. Reminds me of deadfire and the problems they had in a few of their quests like this. it's true that you have to make a extra branches and that's extra work, but it's worth the effort.

If at least the loot was somewhat balanced when you kill everyone, but it's not at all. Basically you get just generic stuff you can find anywhere worth nothing, and you get punished just because you explored the map in the wrong order.
The "good way" by the sound of things will get even more benefits later down the line if the quest is done the "RIGHT" way.

Going to leave this here as well: if you have pets with you the hideout npcs just go haywire, like in most places.
