Today we bring you a new hotfix, which addresses some common reasons for crashes and other gameplay issues.
This hotfix will also take care of the issue causing parties of 3-4 players to crash when a second player joins an already-started conversation. (Warning: We're pleased to assist in making your party chats run smoothly, but you're on your own when it comes to avoiding small talk.)
A big thank you to all who reported this issue and all the rest!
For our Mac players, we know you’re still waiting for Patch 9. We’re continuing to work on the stability of the build on Mac, but need some more time to address the issues.
CRASHES AND BLOCKERS
Fixed a crash caused by RAM corruption that would occur when loading into the tutorial.
Fixed a crash that would occur when booting the game using Vulkan.
Fixed an issue prompting the 'Mid-dialogue saves are currently disabled' error while not in dialogue, which was preventing you from saving.
Fixed a crash that would occur in 3- or 4-player sessions - if one player is in a dialogue and another listens in, the game no longer crashes for everyone else.
Fixed an issue in multiplayer causing the UI to disappear when switching from listening in on the host to listening in on the client.
GAMEPLAY
Fixed an issue causing your equipped weapon set to switch from melee to ranged or vice versa when loading a savegame.
Fixed an issue causing some of Shadowheart's spells to disappear from her prepared spell list after saving and then loading that savegame.
Fixed some visual issues with the Vision of the Absolute spear.

Thanks for the Mac update and letting us know we’re still on the radar.
~patiently, impatiently waiting for Patch 9 on my Mac Studio…
The data mismatch error appeared ever since patch 9 was initially launched (on my end). I am using the GOG offline installers and this is the content of the "galaxy_4.1.1.2084795_alteredFiles.txt" file: Version: 4.1.1.2084795 Platform: galaxy
Again, the content of the file is identical even with the latest hotfix installed (obviously the version number changes). It appears to be a false alarm or at least not a severe issue of data mismatch.
I tried 1) removing the files from the folder, then 2) verifying files (so they would be reinstalled). The warning is still there.
those 3 files are needed by the game and should be in those folders so your issue is different to Bomor
i'm going to assume you tried telling Steam to verify the game so i'd shut down the Game and Steam fully then run Steam as admin and try verify again then if that doesn't clear it your OS or antivirrus is blocking Steam and you would need to look into where i.e, what folder location things are placed
Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it. Yoda: That is why you failed.

I mean, I know all that haha. Everything was fine before the last Hotfix, I already run everything in admin and my antivirus is properly set. Plus, everything was install and re-installed properly. My drivers are also up to date.
To me, this is on Larian's end at this point. Something is not tagged properly in their code and is making this warning appear.
Luckily, like sollis68, this does not seem to impact the actual game. It's just annoying to see this warning for no good reason.
[*] Fixed a crash that would occur when booting the game using Vulkan.
This issue sadly still persists for me. I would think it has something to do with my AMD 7000 series graphics card and their drivers maybe. I already sent a support email a few minutes ago to help with this issue. The DX11 Version works thankfully.
And yes, my gameversion is updated to patch 4.1.1.2154614
I think the reason there was no response to that query from back in Feb in this thread was that the 31 Aug date was confirmed in a community update later that same day
"You may call it 'nonsense' if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!"

Yes, D3d11 works and supports HDR, fortunately. Running Windows 11 build 22624.1755. I don't get the crash running Vulkan, but Vulkan doesn't support HDR last I checked. For me, the D3d11 version runs much better than the Vulkan version in terms of image quality--I play at 4k. The Vulkan version looks a bit off on the texturing compared with the D3d11 version. Hard to say exactly because the D3d11 HDR version looks splendiforous. So I'm a bit particular about IQ. I'm running an RX-6900XT and the Vulkan version runs fine but doesn't look as good. Which is sort of weird as from day 1 Larian said that Vulkan was the API default. You could be right about the 7000 series, though--I just don't know. I'm still somewhat surprised that Larian doesn't do a D3d12 version since this game has taken such a long time in Early Access--I bought it on day one figuring I'd have maybe 9 months to wait--hah-hah...;) Shaping up nicely, though, although Chapter 1 is getting somewhat long in the tooth...!
I'm never wrong about anything, and so if you see an error in any of my posts you will know immediately that I did not write it...;)
Running Windows 11 is a dice roll as each new update breaks as much as it fixed... having DX11 & Vulkan as options for each user is one of the things Larian got right

It may be different because of our setups, but my SO and I play on TVs, TCL6 series. TVs are stacked top is 65", bottom is 75", but that's the only difference. We play via GeForce Now. For some reason, I have always loaded with DX11, she loads with Vulcan...maybe it's vice versa...Anyway, to me at least with this setup, our performance is identical and visually there is no discernable difference. Just my experience.

because the cloud is doing all the work not your system but even if you did have a computer the two should rendor the same... its basically which part [Cpu vs Gpu] does the rendor
