In patch 9 notes it said: "You now accrue dirt and blood more slowly, Prone makes you a bit dirtier, and Wet cleans you"

That is, the amount of blood and dirt on the characters was reduced, and the time required for their accumulation was increased. However, I've played almost a hundred hours since the release of patch 9 and can't recall a single instance of blood on my characters/companions face. Directly in the gameplay, you can see bruises, sweat, blood and dirt, if you bring the camera closer to the characters, but in the cutscene, the characters do not have any of the above. Blood and dirt don't show up anymore, wet effect too. I really liked that feature, hopefully we can toggle that option on the full game, but it would be great if such a feature would continue to work correctly in early access. In patch 8, all this worked correctly, despite the fact that the character got dirty really quickly.
I found people talking about this issue. I'm sure I'm not alone, just not everyone paid attention to this problem. Several hotfixes have already passed, but none of them solved this problem. A very cool feature stopped working, which, in theory, should work.
I'm reporting this issue in the hope that it will get more attention and be fixed.

Hmm, yes. I agree. And I know some other folk didn't like the effects, and I suppose they were a bit much, but I also thought this was a cool feature and hope it works properly in the full release.

I am very happy not to look like Pigpen anymore in dialogue! I hope they keep that as an option.

Hate the dirt. It’s the number one reason i stopped playing the early access (to wait for it to be fixed). Filthy faces are NOT realistic to anyone who works outside in super remote areas for extended periods of time (raises hand).

It’s called a kerchief. It’s called water. If anyone on my team irl walked around this filthy, I would ask for a helicopter evacuation because they are obviously having a mental health crisis and rubbing dirt on their face is a cry for help.

A bit like of post-battle blood and sweat? Why not. Filthy faces from walking? No. It’s moronic.

This is an rpg, not a survival sim. If they insist on adding this stupid feature, then they might as well add urination/defecation animations as well. Oh. and an “empty bowel” spell.

I don’t think anyone is asking for the excessive dirt to be reintroduced, just for the (reduced) amount of dirt and blood to be visible in cutscenes. Happy for this to be optional, and to be honest I don’t hugely care one way or another. I liked our characters not always looking pristine, but it’s not a hill I’d die on.

Or are you saying that the reduced amount of dirt is still too much? I haven’t really noticed as it doesn’t show in dialogue close-ups.

I wonder If this is the reverse of the bug that made previously pristine characters completely muddy in cutscenes for me in patch 8. They stayed dirty after the cutscene/dialogue, though.

I disagree with some of the opinions here. I respect the position, but I support the immersive option that if my character is covered in dirt and mud before talking to someone, I expect them to be covered in dirt and mud when talking to that person, unless they cleaned themselves off between the two points in time.

Thank you for removing the dirt and hematomas. Now it's much more fun to play.
