A while back, I've made a suggestion to add a journal/diary for our Tav in the game (here)...It didn't really pick the interest of a lot of people. Thus, I'm going to assume that it won't be a feature, not even a mod.

So, I wonder.

Does anyone know of a good software to use in order to write a character's journal/diary?

A practical light software like a notepad but (!) with a multitude of pages with limited characters per page (ideally with a "Dark mode") instead of just one infinite block/page ; something simulating a real-life journal/diary/book basically.

So not something like Microsoft's Notepad or Notepad++.

I would be most grateful ^^

PS :Also, please don't answer me "just use real-life pen & paper".
I have my reasons for not wanting to use that. Hence why I'm asking for a specific software 🙂

Note : to be used on my computer (so, available on Windows).

Googling this reveals that 98% of the internet is made up of note taking apps

I'm not just asking for an app to take note, I'm asking for the advice/opinion/recommandation of a community that play RPGs.

I'm perfectly aware that Google exists 😑

In fact, the overwhelming amount of results is what lead to me asking this community for help finding something more specific/fitting (what's they would recommend).

Wasn't being catty, I was looking for something to help you and found a lot of dross. I was under the impression you wanted something to emulate the in-game picture from your other thread. I don't have a very good note taking process, it's usually VtT on my phone or, pnp in one of my numerous notepads. Notecards too. And Excel...I should really get on top of that.

My apologies then, it was really hard not to read that as just "Google exists".


That would indeed be what I ideally want ^^ But an external software that would be displayed on my second screen would work as well 🙂
