It would even be cool to me if we met descendants of characters from the first two games. Maybe see the ripples through time of the Bhaalspawn's adventuring.
Yes it might be fun to meet Coran’s son, Krydle, who was introduced in the same comic books that brought statue Minsc to life and who adventured with Minsc for a while. I’m not sure how much of those comic books will be considered canon for BG3 but based on the final instalment Krydle and the rest of that gang could well be involved in whatever the Absolute cult are up to in Baldur’s Gate when we get there.
I agree with this, and I take this opportunity to remind Larian to adopt the correct German translations from WotC / MtG TCG and to adapt other sources in the game, such as Lore Books, to them:

With the others I find it stupid, if they live again with some whacky, justifying stories in the same future as Volo and Minsk and their both coincidental reappearance at the coincidentally same time period are already too much for me.
I would much rather get to know new characters.
