Just about every other D&Dish party-based game allows you to set up a formation that you want your group to travel and move in, ensuring that your tanky types are in the front and your ranged/squishies are not - BG3 doesn't seem to have that option at all, and worse, if I want my tanky brute in the front they are also going to be the person that gets the conversations - this is terrible.

Please tell me I'm wrong here, and/or that this is going to change at some point?

Divinity Original Sin 2 had a formation feature for the party, so one might assume we will have the same in BG3.

It's currently not in the game though, as a lot of things that are missing.

Yeah, but sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't and sometimes it made things waaay worse.:)

I hope so, but it never worked properly in DoS2 either.

This could *somewhat* be easily fixed with a simple checkbox for setting who your party spokesman is.

Crawling ahead with your 8 charisma trap-finder, deep in the underdark? No problem. Rather than forcing them to fail all your die checks your PARTY LEADER steps in and speaks...*sigh*

Formations are one of the various topics covered in the party movement mechanic megathread at https://forums.larian.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=679414. We can add new thoughts to that if we wish.

I'll lock this other old thread just to prevent a splinter discussion.
