I get nothing but "Joining failed: You're already connected" every time I try to make a custom party (following tutorials like the one below). Patch 9, macOS. Running multiple instances is no problem, but when I try both direct connect and LAN throw the same error above.
Mac has no Dx11 option, btw. Switched to Mac after giving up on Windows, which threw nothing but "Connecting to NATpunch server failed" errors that I couldn't solve. Firewall and antivirus were off.
the tutorial could be a little clearer but the basic steps are correct and the issue is at your end not the guide... i would go back to Windows and just install the Dotnet
are you using a VPN or is the Larian launcher not running as admin for the first version of the game?... note you only need the larian launcher to be run once and it sounds like you have more than one or possibly more than a single profile

One possible way to get that error; When you clicked the bg3.exe to fire up a new game it should have given you their sales pitch for allowing cross saves... If you clicked yes then that will cause the 'already connected' you describe [ assuming your Larian launcher is normally set to cross saves]

I am having the exact same issue with Mac OS Patch 9 and have tried not allowing the cross saves as well as allowing the cross saves. No improvement. "Joining failed: You're already connected"
np its something they added in patch 9 [without testing or thinking it through]... i also suggest Mac users try hitting verify as Larian should be awake by now and replaced their launcher to not need it
