I would like to vote but i've got a semi static IP. The server gives you an IP and switches sometimes when theire is a lot of traffic.

Worth a try!
Or using proxies, if you can.

DAD, my vacation is over, I'm working again and can't vote in the "strategic" manner you propose. I went to bed at 4.00 am this morning and worked until now. Can't keep this up - same goes for schedule planning.
Kiya

I'm willing to give your strategy a try - but very reduced due to my working hrs.

Ok, I've voted, who's next?

Thank you Kiya, but if you are back to your job then better sleep well or you shall lose it.
Seriously, take care of your life first; without it, we have no Kiya to begin with.

Oh, yeah - and as for Barbie (not popular in my childhood ) or dolls (had a very cruel and neglected short life )

So you have been practicing “torturer” since childhood ... hmmm ..

I said I didn't trusted that voting thingy from the start.
They remove the up votes but let the down voting go on.
I been thinking about sending some mails too. But I guess I better don't tell'm how I feel about this (and them).

[color:"yellow"] Hi Erik
This is your chance hero.
We have monitored ridiculous numbers of SPAM down voting on Riftrunner.
It is more than evident; so please do not give me excuses.
If we do not see some action you would have to bear the consequences, and I shall make that a surprize.
I hope you understand how angry I am concerning allowing voting down so badly.
Take care.
Friendly.
EL

Hi everyone,

I haven't had the chance to go online because I experienced "blackout" for up to 27 hours. Kiya...the copy of Tomas' response you received matches the original copy sent to me. Riftrunner's rating is going down. As I said earlier, I hope that all these efforts at voting do indeed bring us closer to the goal of increasing Riftrunner's publicity. As was mentioned in another thread, there are other ways to increase Riftrunner's publicity. I don't want to fall for the "sunk cost" decision-making trap (look that up...a little hard to explain fully ) where all our past efforts prevent us from moving forward. If we see a better way of increasing Riftrunner's publicity, then I hope we'll make adjustments. The question: Are our actions taking us closer to our goal, or moving us further away? This should be the question that guides our actions regarding Riftrunner.

Thanks.

To all:
It is a blow what the decision of the voting site is causing to RR's rating - but I can only appeal to all of you: STAY CALM, please.
RR is coming out in Q4 2003 or maybe a wee tad later, we still have plenty of time to think up strategies for a better publicity.

Please, keep in mind: there are many other gaming sites, let's use our creative energy for thinking up positive strategies - not succumb to threats und unfriendliness.

Our efforts should be supporting RR and not anything else (specially not with destructive methods). Thank you for reading this

Hi everyone,

On one perspective, I think many Riftrunner fans are angry at what the site is doing because it's efforts are not doing enough. Before proceeding with this message, I hope that you take a more neutral perspective towards the term, "spam-voting". Previously, spam-voting that was used to reduce Riftrunner's rating was neutralized by spam-voting used to increase Riftrunner's rating. Mathematically though, downvoting has a greater impact than voting to increase a game's rating. It takes more votes to increase a game's rating than it does to decrease it. Thus, spam-voting to increase a game's rating is more likely to be looked down upon than spam-voting to decrease a game's rating even if it is meant to neutralize what is seen as an attack. The site's response to spam-voting unknowingly supports downvoters. When I think of this more closely, the morality of spam-voting is almost similar to the morality of taking another person's life. It seems right under certain circumstances for some people (euthanasia) and wrong under other circumstances (murder)

Thanks.

Hi,

This game is rated:

Total votes: 1682

Note: My message before this one edited even more. The dilemma: We can't overvote because that's considered spamvoting but then if we don't overvote, we get run over by downvoting...Any ideas on how to deal with this? Suggestions welcome...

Thanks.

DAD's former suggestion could be worth a try.
1. Vote and report hre
2. Other gamer votes and reports
3. Next one
4. first one then again.

Advantage: Different IP and different ISP.

It's kinda what I been doing all the time.
Sometimes I get to vote once a day... sometimes a few times in a row.
Depending on what proxy that "anonymous on the net" software chooses I guess.
