I have SH or Gale cast Light on frontline fighter (there's also a ring in Lenore's manor), switch to torch (I like this light effect), have SH/Astarion scout, or periodically cast Dancing lights. Not having Darkvision is more a flavour rather than an inconvenience.
Roleplay-wise, as mentioned the Underdark doesn't have much at the moment in EA.
