I so love the way Larian's version of those classes want to go.
Its really a playable option for both of them .
Well i dont liked the polar bear form. ( In table top this class was broken from lvl2-4)But now that i see that we will get this Honor Among Thief 's vibe .
Kind make sense.
Its a little bit strong to get at lvl 4 Displacer Beast but this form have just two attacks. I would like to suggest replaceing the illithid power of the druid whit this form.

If it will be like this how i think it is.
Than i like it really, and it makes a lot more sense why we get such a disaster exemplar of the polar bear form.
Well it whould be nice to test it out .

And the ranger was the worst class in dnd mybe, after Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything changed it to be a little bit better.
But i was still underperforming. In BG3 its simply awesome and i had the most fun to play with him in early access.

So watching the new trailer closely (using a microscope )i can confim its the new illithid power .
I almost sure of it cuz the druid hou is shifting to a Displacer Beast is lvl 4 and its a circle druid and not even a moon druid .
I like the idea of this.
I still wish i could test it out before release. OMG i am so exited to try this out.

I think will use this homebrew in my dnd campains (both beast master both moon druid) .

I agree it might make a bit more sense at level 4 as an illithid power, if that’s really when we’d get it, but I found the aesthetic of the change was quite different from the illithid powers we’ve seen to date, which I think tend to be red and glowy. This transformation looks more black/grey and the tentacles just look like displacer beast … fronds? … to me. Not that I’d object if the illithid power visuals were toned down a bit.

Well the tadppole is altered with shadow magic thats fact .
And the Displacer Beast lives in shadow plane . For me its logical second choice but i am just speculating.

The problem with the Beastmaster is that's so good that I wouldn't even consider playing the Hunter Ranger.
