The simple fact BG3 has multiplayer is enough for popular influencers to pick it up and expose it to a wider audience than your typical CRPG niche. In France we have multiple 100k+ views BG3 videos on Youtube, that would be unimaginable for any other title in the same category.

This is especially funny to because Skyrim was THE game that popularized ENB. You couldn't avoid picture of bright and flashy modded Skyrim everywhere on the internet. Seems like even in the days of the "everything is dark and gritty and grey", people still wanted some eye candy.
Exactly and mods that make like Witcher 3 for adults only.

He seems to get in nostalgia about Morrowind. Aesthetic? I have never liked the Alien look of Elves in Elder Scrolls games.

Well and for as for grey tone in Northern Europe? I live in Northern Europe and it is not grey world. During winter times sometimes it is very dark indeed, but not grey. Same thing for Canada is not grey area.

Why do I do not like Skyrim?
A. Grey graphics.
B. Open World hahaa somebody said he played 300 h and still not done the game.
C. Well not enough challenge.
D. I am theme player I like WOW MMO where quests are crystal clear.
E. In WOW MMO there is challenge always example PvP or PvE Elite Dungeons and Raids.
F. I do not like the Alien Elves graphics in Skyrim.
G. I do not like the world or lore in Skyrim.
H. Silly... jump again again to get more skill in jump.

It is true Witcher 3 is a bit Open World, but it does not have grey graphics and it is for adults much better game.

Anyway it is not like I hate ES fans. Everyone can have subjective taste of games.

What is interesting can they do Avowed a game that both me and Pillars of Eternity fans like and ES fans like game?
I do not know, but sounds like Avowed could be a game that we all like lets hope that:

Wait when Avowed will be released? Yes what I heard it should be released during year 2024, but not early 2024 like between July-December 2024 is most likely when released. Of course it is possible it will be released later in 2025, but my guess is during 2024. Well and it is not simple guess there was a leak that during end of 2024 release however they have not said officially when it will be released.

Here it mentions DOS2 have reached 2 million sold and this was like after more then a year after DOS2 release.
Yeah, D:OS2 sales are nowhere near 10 M. The last somewhat official number I saw was 2 M, so I would estimate around 3 M. Definitely well below 5 M.

In an AMA in 2020 Sven indicated that there are currently no plans for "major DLC" as it seems like something Larian isn't interested in much in general. DLC I could see in the form of something like D:OS2 got with 'gift bags'. I could also see a handful of random smaller side quests being added as well - kind of like D:OS2 got.

But it seems unlikely that Larian develops a whole new campaign or a major expansion for the game. Though maybe if sales and demand are high enough they change their mind on that.

I remember that, but just read it as meaning that they weren’t even thinking about DLC yet given the release of the base game was still some years off, rather than that they’d considered it and ruled it out. And it doesn’t feel as though we can necessarily draw any conclusions from Larian’s history given the scale of the initial investment in BG3 is so different. But it’s also possible of course they’ll want to move on to something new once BG3 is completed. I guess we’ll see, and in the meantime I’ll live in hope smile.

Either Larian or the Mod community or another developer could utilize the platform to create additional content. Its not a matter of IF to me - it's a matter of who wants to make some money. The IF to me right now is "will Larian commit to multiplayer and implement DM mode". They are really the only ones that can do that.

I know they will support the platform with additional updates, bug fixes and even content - they did that with DOS2 until halfway through 2022 - for a game that was released in 2017!

It's crazy how much more ethical you get to be when you don't have stockholders tugging on that teat!

In case it wasn't said and isn't like completely obvious -> BG2.
If you already played it, play it with mods. Some add 20/30 quests and new characters.

There is even one with cutscenes and an entirely new story and map centered around drizzt team + voice acting. Ok only Drizzt voice actor is ok everyone else had a shitty mic. But still!

Alt+ left click in the inventory on an item while the camp stash is opened transfers the item there. Make it a reality.

Modding with good voice acting is about to get more common with AI.

I forgot about the multiplayer crowd (I often do). That is actually how I first heard about the early access…from gaming pals who were like “hey, we can play this rpg together!”

(I never will, mind you. But they were super excited about that)

Then I watched the early footage and, weirdly, the past tense narration style (which is gone now), and fun/challenging combat both grabbed my attention. So I got it.

I do wonder what the ratio of multiplayer folks versus single player folks will end up being. Ie, who is the bigger audience?

Well it is up to Larian decide what they do. However regardless how it has been with DOS2.

Simple fact remains BG3 will not be even near level 20 for full game that is available. I have said many time I do not care for high end gaming so much in DnD and would be fine with example max level 12. What is max level in BG3 during full release? I do not know, but my guess between level 11-14.

With an expansion big one to BG3 they could increase max level even to perhaps level 20. Now if they would do such thing I do no think BG3 would get get that any time soon not during year 2023.

Finally it is up to Larian what they do. I can not promise what Larian will do or not do they have the power to decide. That said from Dungeons Dragons view to bring maximum level to 20 would kind of make sense. Now and I do not want to hear of Pathfinder Epic levels beyond 20 thank you.
It is very possible BG3 will not get to even near level 20 never. Compare at Solasta is it maximum level 20? No maximum level in Solasta expansion pack Lost valley is 12. That said in Lost Valley Solasta DLC to buy you begin from level 1 again so it is a journey from level 1-12 so Lost valley does not feel very short.

Finally from BG3 worst view what could happen is that Larian decide they will develop something completely different after BG3 that has nothing to do with BG3 and no more content.

As for modding or GM possible you know I do not believe in GM in BG3 before I see it sounds a bit like a pipe dream to me seriously. I know Neverwinter Nights had that, but currently BG3 mods what can be done is very much behind what Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 you could do it is very big difference indeed. You could even create Online private servers worlds with much more players then 4 players multiplayer in Neverwinter Nigths 1 and 2 and that is even more advanced then a GM mode possible, but yes it included in GM as well in NWN 1 and 2.

I believe many that play BG3 multiplayer will also have a single player game separately. However how many will only play single player in BG3 I do not know, but really many players will play only single player BG3. There is nothing wrong playing BG3 as single player only or multiplayer up to maximum 4 players and people do what they want.

It is possible that players have barely time to play multiplayer rarely example maximum once /week (and not every week) due to real life reasons as well and barely do play through BG3 one time.

Doubtful. This is a really impressive recreation of original actor's voice. Delivery, however, is lifeless and brings nothing to the material. Acting is more than reading the lines, and that requires understanding and creativity, which, for the sake of our wellbeing, I hope AI will never reach

With AI, I am worried it is only a matter of time.

Worrying, terrifying, exciting. Glorious. You can't waste time being afraid of the future, you have to grab your board, and stick in.

AI I am kind of neutral to it.

Because outside family it is is false feelings. I really hate the culture how are you question? Like they would care lol.

AI in it is pure form can be dangerous though. I like the first 2 Terminator movies. I liked the movie M3GAN. I understood M3GAN. At end of day are humans much better then M3GAN? Honestly no according to me. M3GAN actions though were extreeme which made M3GAN sociopath unnormal to society what most humans are not.

Of course some really good people exist I admit that. However they often believe they are majority when that is false I believe though now when I say "bad" people i do not mean necessary murderer or anything like that simple that people do not care a shit at then end of day. Now after all this rant you think I consider myself one of this very good people? Short answer no I am one in the mass not a murderer but not very good person. Only a minority in the world I consider very good persons.

For gaming, AI opens up the possibility of true reactivity with fully voiced and even emotive npc characters. A whole village of them. An entire world of them. Factions of them. Each one has a set of coded morality and other defining characteristics, drives, backstories and…boom…you basically have a holodeck from Star Trek.

I think that is very exciting!

By AI being a danger the issue is not the AI trying to shoot you lol.
The problem is the AI doing what you do just better and faster.
It's still learning to talk and draw. Once and if that is figured out the service sectors will start to see a massive impact on employement rate. And it will get worse. Customer service , telemarketing, data analysis, art sectors( which seemed completely untouchable so far) will start getting impacted too. Some of them already are( to a limited degree).

To put things into perspective currently from 50 to 80% of people ( depending on the country based on world bank's data from 2019 ) in EU is working in the services sector precisely because it felt safe from AI. Surprise surprise, not for long. Now it's becoming a problem to a limited degree with illustrators loosing comissions, in 10 years literally millions of people will end up without a job and any perspective to find one with their soft skills skillset.

EU is starting to consider seriously UBI legislations but even if this becomes a thing it will be a way to not starve at best. Either you find a way to get out of sectors which will get impacted first or you're at a serious risk of loosing your job to an AI.

Sounds like AI can be used to revamp procedural generation of content at a massive scale with a level of detail never seen before.

+1
AI operates on the basis of gradient descent and pattern recognition. Self-awareness isn't the issue; a hyper-efficient, rapidly working, large-scale process that can mimic any human activity but better is the issue. I recommend https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_room for the non-issue of self-awareness.

Even military airplane AI controlled has been at least planned for a long time. I could not resist what has inspired my Avatar name. I only think the first 2 Terminator movies are excellent and rest are more like ok/good. Oh I am not police hater and I do not want police killed. I simply like it as cool movie with brutal SCIFI action.

However AI in a computer game I see it only as good thing if done well.
