By the way, how did it go from almost a Straight 10 out of 10 all the way down to a 6/10?!?! Everyone stopped voting for awhile, to identify the pattern of down votes (which Kiya and Rincewind kept track of). The down votes for Riftrunner came in short, periodic bursts designed to avoid tripping the spam alert at the web site. These votes did not correspond to any voting on other games, and the rate of voting for other games in the top 10 was fairly low. It was not other gamers doing this, but someone specifically targeting Riftrunner.

The unfair thing is, if the spam alert is taken off, the votes and the rating stay the same - he was at it again, I was watching. So what's the point in spam alert then? Kiya
Voting temporarily closed for this game due to a spam alert! It will be open for voting as soon as the investigation is completed. pretty long time - watch my edit time

This game is rated: 6,16 Total votes: 2276 Just checked the status 6.06 with 2348 votes that is some heavy spam down voting. I hope that they can identify the person and some how ban him/her.

My impression is that the website is an accomplice in this downvoting. A SPAM trigger might have been triggered but when they find it down voting they do nothing and when they find it up voting they delete 5000 votes; how more ridiculous they get? I say let us vote strongly and make them manipulate the votes manually then complain to all known game press on earth. This shall bring the poll off the map if not that ridiculous website too. This is absolutely fair towards that most unfair treatment we had been having.
There were 15 votes in each burst and there was one burst every hour making 60 down votes. Now that is too hard to organise and it must be a spam but it triggers no filter. I think that the website IS behind that spam and holding voting is just a ruse to manipulate the votes down. I am sick of that website. Enough said.

Sick of the website, DAD?
Hmm, what about us all taking up the suggestions in Raze's thread and looking for other suitable gaming sites then? Complaining about a site will only bring up attention to this site instead of - or am I mistaken here?
I see no sense in a spam alert when it merely stops spam voting for a time being and business continues then as usual - rates/votes remain the same.
The only result is this IMO: The downvoter gets what he wants --> attention, our attention BTW. So this voting business is slowly turning into something completely different: Not is in the center of attention; nope, it's turning into a tug-o-war between an individual and a fan community, battlefield is a gaming site. Not very constructive for RR, not constructive for those participating in this voting business.
Now, what could happen if we just leave the site as it is? Far lesser hits/pings (or whatever they're called), maybe a disadvantage for the site? - [color:"yellow"]the downvoter loses the attention he's craving for, for how long will he continue playing with a bone when no one else is interested?
And the most important advantage IMO: We can use this free energy by swarming out and looking for other possibilities, more suitable gaming sites. I'm sure, a lot of us have the knowledge how to help update the existing RR info or find sites, where RR is missing and can ask for it?
I also wish the site would have aided us, but their reaction since Monday was zero, if I read my statistics.
I'd like you all to think about this a bit. If you all could gather links, I'm willing to browse them, we could build up teams - and it would be great, if the knowledgeable among you can teach others how to put up info in sites that still don't have RR. If any of you stumble across other voting sites, let's see if the downvoter runs out of breath, spending his time jumping from one site to the other - never knowing if we're not somewhere else? He's probably a singular person, we're a community, we can outnumber him easily, make RR popular and the tug-o-war turns into a rat race Kiya

[color:"yellow"] Info from the developer, came about the time when I was writing the above post (4 min. earlier) Greetings! The last 12 hours we have received 13 Spam Alerts from Riftrunner. That is a lot! You are right! The rating is not fair at all!Until now we have come with two suggestions: Number one is your suggestion: only members can vote.
Number two is a little bit sad: no voting at all. Remove Most Wanted from ToTheGame. The settlement falls tomorrow. I will let you know! Tomas Skøie Developer, ToTheGame -------------------- Well, let's all hold thumbs the site goes for membership - then fairness will win - if you all are willing to register there I'll let you know Kiya And I specially like the sentence from Tomas that this rating is not fair at all

I agree with you completely Kiya. However, until I see something done I have to hold to my sceptic position. They destroyed the essence of rating games by setting it as a most wanted competition. The wise choice is deleting this circus. Voting based on membership is at best ridiculous at this stage and starting it from scratch demands deleting the current circus. We may try other methods as you have suggested. Cheers.

Let's wait until tomorrow - I'll post the answer (if I get one) ASAP (have to work tomorrow and forgot my way into my mail addy from outside my PC). Kiya
I'M still hoping for membership - remember? I believe in the Hogfather, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy
Tomas (developer) really wanted to help us and stay neutral at the same time. He was very cooperative...

No mail until yet. Kiya
Jvb, I don't believe we'll have that battle/war anymore if the site decides for membership vote - but I know, I still have a lot to learn in this strange internet world.

We can outnumber him - and the site could be informed? Let's cross the bridge when we're at it. Come on now, those who still wish to help RR and vote, please register www.tothegame.comKiya [color:"yellow"]Mail from the developer Tomas Skoie to Lockmar, Raze and me Greetings!
