Although this post is 4 years old, I encountered the same issue today. I asked for help on Discord but no one responded, so I decided to solve the problem myself. I checked the Event Viewer and found that Definitive Edition was referencing the nvcuda64.dll module when starting up, but I haven't installed an NVIDIA graphics card. This driver module may have been left over from a previous graphics card, and the application error in the Event Viewer clearly indicated this. So I located nvcuda64.dll, stopped the service, and deleted it. Therefore, I suggest that friends who encounter the same problem can open the Event Viewer to see where the problem is.
