As far as I've been able to tell, BG3 does not support this at present time - just as their previous titles have not. I'd be interested to know if there are plans to improve this situation.

BINGO. We need to advocate for this feature TO BE INCLUDED BEFORE LAUNCH.

@The Red Queen -- This is where we'd need your help. You have a link to the upper ups. This is D&D. Inter game communication by TEXT is an absolute must. Don't worry about voice, but text is very very important. Many in this style of gaming need it. In DDO there is built in voice and built in text chat. Text chat is used 4 to 1 over voice. Its often the FIRST WAY we get to meet guildies.

No inter-game text chat will sadly place this game in the circular file in a FRACTION OF THE TIME by gamers... I PROMISE developers that. Add global text chat and player-to-player (private) text chat features.

Remember those words Larian, discuss it at your meetings... because many, many thousands of BG3 gamers will REQUIRE this feature for basic necessity communication and it will simply be a game-breaker to not have it.

I think if you are trying to @ the Larian devs, you may be better served getting an email sent out. My understanding of this board is that the moderators/administrators/community managers collect the most useful/prominent feedback into some kind of shared document to which Larian has access, not that developers are actively checking this forum.
