Hard to say with gale, he is a little fond of his magic artifacts as food. Not out of the question as magic is unpredictable and has a will of its own in some instances. If said magic wanted to rob gale of his magic, to grow stronger. If tricked him into romance with himself by looking like Mystra. Gale says he lost his power in an accident right?
