I have a question is it possible for the to add pets in the game

Hi, and welcome. You’ll notice I’ve separated out this post from the old thread about split screen co-op you’d originally created it in and given it a new title. For future reference, it’s generally better to create a new thread with a relevant title rather than necro an old one on a different topic. Though if it’s the same topic, then yes it is better to carry on the previous discussion rather than start a new one .

That said, BG3 early access does have a couple of pets you can persuade to your camp, and I’m assuming this will also be the case for the full release.

If you want a pet to follow you round and help on your adventure, you can choose a class that is able to summon a familiar or animal companion, such as wizard, warlock or ranger.

Yes, a displacer kitten would be cute. Very dangerous, but also very cute 😂

Speaking of cute kittens, I hope we will meet a tressym. Much less dangerous, but also very adorable.

I love our current pets, and I buy Potions of Animal Speaking whenever I can get them. It's really nice that we can talk to them.
One thing I noticed is that I can't play fetch with Scratch any longer in this patch. Is it just bugged for me, or was this removed?

Not just you! But hopefully we’ll get the option back in full release.

And I agree that the ability to talk to our pets is fun. Though it shows up that we can’t talk, eg, to our ranger animal companions. Or at least we couldn’t last patch I played a ranger. I hope they’ll get some lines in the full release, and familiars too!

Ja, pets are cool. Think I'd have some kind of monk based Ground Hog. Those little yahoo's they do would be awesome in battle. Possibly.

I hope so, too. For me, things like playing with your dog or making music at camp adds a lot to the immersion.


I haven't played a ranger yet, I assumed this would be possible. It would be nice if it would be added in full release.

Yeah two pets are confirmed and hopefully more later on. I want my camp to be overflowing with cute animals.

And i want my Ranger to have option to take those pets with him to outside world to fight alongside with him ...

Or at least Scratch, since Owlbear cub is still little.
(and yet possibly more dangerous than half our followers)

I am very curious about how our favourite Miniature Giant Space Hamster will look in BG3 😊

The displacer beast ("Coeurl") came from an old science fiction writing by A. E. van Vogt named "Black Destroyer" from his 1930's era Voyage of the Space Beagle series, which also is one of the inspirations for the original Star Trek series. It's a good story.

So there you go, long before there were Space Hamsters, we had the Space Beagle.

@OP in the meanwhile go play monster hunter stories 2 or MHW iceborne stories mod, it’s the closest you will get to playing with pets while you wait for BG3 full release. Have fun
