And that still ran surprisingly well on a 16GB / Ryzen 3 / 1050ti combo.

I barely play any graphics blockbuster games these days (haven't actually played a GAME this year so far). More recent, Ryzen 5 5600 and RX 6600 have become very affordable for a decent budget gaming combo though over here. Otherwise, GPU prices and the market in particular is still batshit insane. And it seems customers seem to roll with it. (Rumors have it even a 500 bucks RTX 4060 is going to ship with but 8GB of VRAM, and but 8 PCIe Lanes :PCMasterrace:).
Depends what your ryzen 3 is today. For example my ryzen 3 3100 bottlenecks this game with faster GPUs heavily. I am lookout for 5600 upgrade to replace 3100 at it will benefit heavily if paired with faster GPU. 1050ti is not that GPU. If you do not upgrade that CPU upgrade is not needed either.

16Gb RAM is fully enough. This game for example never uses more than 16Gb. There are quite little games in world that require more than 16Gb still. For memory ir is much more important to optimize that the 16Gb is running optimal speed. Even more so with Ryzen CPUs that have internal bus clocks tied to RAM clocks normally.
