Will the collectors edition dlc/digital content be on separate keys to the game, I want to give my game copy away, as i already have a copy, but I want to keep the digital content.
So need to know if these items are seprate keys on steam or not.

From the Community Update announcing the digital content, it looks as though we’ll get most of the digital content anyway with our early access purchase, with what looks like the exception of a collector’s edition dice skin. Which I know doesn’t answer your question, but hopefully makes the stakes a bit lower!

I’m not sure whether the Community Management team would have this detail yet, but it might be worth popping your question/suggestion into the community update thread I linked to just in case.

Dam that sucks. I wanted to know, but I hope the devs can see this and try to clarify how the DLCs would work.

Bump, I guess. I am also interested in whether or not this is a thing. I already have a copy of BG3 on Steam, and I do not know whether or not I will even be able to get this dice skin since I already own the game on Steam. I hope that it is a separate key or something, so that I can get the skin without having to completely remove the game from my library or something like that.

For the Collector's Edition with the Steam key, the key for the game will be separate from the exclusive digital content, so you can give away that key and keep the dice skin.

i was hoping players in early access would get the dice skin. :C From the table in the original announcement I think there are different custom dice skins, one unique to the CE and a platform-specific one for the digital deluxe edition that we get for free from EA.

I would say wait, these people found how to get the free dlc for hogwarts legacy which was console locked for a year. I am sure that getting a dice skin would be a 2 hour project for these people. Also like you said, mods exist

I wouldn't mind getting a collector's edition of this game because I enjoy it so much, but I guess I'm confused about why dice skin matters? That's just a visual of the d20 when you roll?
I'd be more inclined to buy a special edition on top of what I already have if it meant I could play as something extra, like a goblin.

That would also mean one would have to buy special edition to get the full game. Larian's unwillingess so far, to sell incomplete products, is one of the things that has me willing to fully support them, even if I don't always enjoy the games they make. If you want to play Baldur's Gate3, you buy Baldur's Gate3. If you are an extra enthusiast and want to spend extra cash to support the studio, than there is Collector's Edition.

I'd pay more to be able to play a goblin. Or to have Shovel as a familiar. Stuff like that. To each their own.

To each their own. I’d also pay for DLC that added new content or playable races, but would prefer that to be issued in smaller, more affordable packages that people could pick and choose to add to their base game depending on their preferences, rather than requiring forking out for a whole enhanced edition. Like Wormerine, I don’t approve of studios limiting significant game content to such editions. Sure, that means I don’t feel particularly compelled to purchase the BG3 enhanced editions - happy as I am to be getting the digital art book for free - but I think that’s quite right and those should very much be optional nice-to-haves.

Like 3 new games kind of addon. I am still holding out on Midnight Suns precisely because their season pass shenanigans. They have the base game, than they have Digital+ edition full of useless tat that costs $20 more, and than they have Legendary Edition which comes with actual post release content that costs another $20. Yeah, I am not falling for that.

With mods you can play as a goblin. And summon shovel as often as you like.
