Very flavorful character, cruel and despicable even.
But Lawful does not seem to fit... Selfish character that has no care for laws and ready to kill whoever (children?) for money and also feels superior to everyone else is a classic Assassin type of character - Chaotic Evil. Being true to your word will not override "killer for hire". Plus - chaos is connected to freedom in DnD and I assume he would be very averse to slavery and value his freedom above all - so if forced with a decision "finish the job" or "avoid capture", he would break his word and bail.
Ranger fits very well. Maybe altho he hates intelligent races but discovers that animals never lie, never betray, never kill unnecessarily. He strives to lead a lonely life with his animal companion, away from civilized races and filth of cities, without fear of getting stabbed in the back. Love for animals and nature will be at least something this kind of character may be "liked" for.
As for my own - I RP several different chars in all DnD games, starting with original BG, IWD and NWN. So for BG3, my char will be a child of Bhaalspawn Charname and Viconia, because that's the first romance I've had in a game lol.
So naturally, it will be a half-drow as well, most likely Thief. I'm still thinking about what kind of person would single mother Viconia raise in solitude on the outskirts of High Forest... All I know is that he will be a strong Shar believer and will definitely find a lot of common ground with Shadowheart.
