honestly i see him as more Paladin than Ranger
I've always seen Paladin as a melee focused Cleric in service to a deity than what they are now in 5E, also in BG3 it is too easy to become an oath breaker which really doesn't fit him. You can loose your oath for freeing Lezel and then the tieflings attack you dispite you never giving your oath at all. Seems very arbitrary to me and also very likely to break your oath just for doing some thing the game considers evil despite you never lying or breaking your word. really wasn't impressed when I tied it.
