Hello fellow Baldur's Gate 3 enthusiasts,
As we eagerly await the release of the game, one of the questions on many of our minds is what kind of modding tools will be available for us to customize our experience. Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur's Gate 3, also developed Divinity: Original Sin 2, which had robust modding capabilities. However, for those of us who haven't played DOS2, it's difficult to know what to expect.
Personally, I'm hoping that the modding tools for Baldur's Gate 3 will be at least as extensive as those in DOS2. I would love to be able to modify the existing campaign, add more enemies, and or create entirely new ones. It would also be great if we could implement a day and night cycle, as well as penalties for teleportation, such as a chance of being attacked during the process, reduce available camp supplies, etc etc, you probably have seen many concerns about the full game and if many if these aren't addressed by Larian themselves, it would be great if we could implement these with the modding tools.
But what can we realistically expect from the modding tools? Will they be limited to basic modifications or will we have a wide range of options to play with? Will Larian Studios provide us with the necessary documentation and support to create more complex mods?
As we all know, Baldur's Gate 3 is a brand new game, and it's possible that the modding tools will be more limited than those of DOS2. However, I remain optimistic that Larian Studios will provide us with a robust set of tools to tinker with and create our own unique experiences.
What are your thoughts on this? Are there any specific modding features that you would like to see in Baldur's Gate 3? Let's discuss and share our hopes and expectations for the game's modding capabilities.
