My question is, what does canon really amount to in a ttrpg? I get the value of it, but what does it actually matter? I mean, I love the Pathfinder setting in 2e, and there's way more to it than 5e has for the Forgotten Realms. But if I ever get to GM a session, then the Stolen Lands will be ruled by my character from Kingmaker, and the Sarkoris Scar will be thriving thanks to the hard work of my Knight Commander, who is now an up and coming angelic demigoddess. 'Canon' in a medium that is at its core meant to be mucked with by other players, is a fuzzy thing at the best of times, if you ask me.
