I agree with what Rag is saying for the most part, except the bit about Hexblade. Hexblades are a warlock patron and so would require the same amount of time and effort as the other subclasses, and since a lot of subclasses seem to have their own unique reactions and such, I do think it would be enough that they might not want to include it. Though I do think that saying it's cut is like saying Levels 14+ are cut, they were never promised in the first place.
I also really doubt Variant human won't show up simply because there's no reason it wouldn't. It's literally just tweaking the numbers of character stats. It's basically a subrace but without having to alter any visuals. Lots of people want it, it's basically an easy win for them.
As for things I'm giving up on, I'm giving up on our Tav having real variety in how they communicate and how their personality can come across. I realized that if I compare the game on a roleplay level to Mass Effect or The Witcher, then that's a more accurate comparison than comparing it to PoE or Pathfinder. And on that level, the game does provide way more roleplay than the former two games.
