Duergar, Half-Orcs and Dragonborn had datamined tags, so they are probably in, either as companions or selectable options for the player. I'd be hesitant about expanding race options too far though. A lot of them would require a lot of writing to do right, and in many ways current race options feel somewhat lacking in some ways in that regard (Moon and Sun Elves not being distinguished, for example) Warforged are from Eberron. I'd rather not see them in a FR game, period.
I expect monks to be in the final release.
Now personally, what I'd like to see? The missing weapons (flails, slings) would be a nice start. More companions. Looks like we'll have 8 or 9, which still feels a bit low to me. Personally I'd also like to see more content for evil players, because as it has been brought up repeatedly-it's quite lacking in regards to what you get to experience if you play through the game as a good character, particularly in regards to companion options. Larian hasn't acknowledged that feedback in EA though, despite it being a pretty common complain, so I am ready to be disappointed in that regard.
Cosmetic options. More face options, tattoos, and piercings for folks who aren't playing the wildheart barbarian subclass. Hair options that don't clip through the ears of pointy-eared races (elves, gith, etc) Personally I would have liked to see elven heads look a bit more distinctively....elven instead of humans with pointy ears, but I think this is another area where that boat may have sailed and will have to wait for someone to (hopefully) make a mod for more distinctively elven heads after the game releases.
