There was never any doubt in my mind that it isn't Baldur's Gate - I think I recognise a few buildings from BG1 including Sorcerous Sundries - so I never paid attention to the interviews to confirm that. If you are interested I would recommend searching for post game awards interviews, maybe there will be confirmation somewhere in there.
