That tweet mentions Baldur's Gate preparing for war.

The word "war" might just be referring to the conflict between Mind Flayers and their prey, but it implies a large scale, organized conflict. I don't think we've seen that framing before. Is this new information? Or maybe there's another war brewing?

Larian, please make accessibility a priority for upcoming patches.

Or it's even more complicated, like a civil war nowadays involving different factions. I'm thinking of Philomen's Rune Powder Bomb and the Ironhand Gnomes. The Illithids are taking advantage of the moment and the chaos for themselves. That would be more exciting to me.

I'll be happy if they have dropped the Gnome Werewolf Bard companion. Too many edgelords and snowflakes in the cast already. I want someone simple and ordinary to balance all that fantastical nonsense. And I can do without a "vampires vs werewolves" party dynamic when it's completely unrelated to everything. In fact I could do without a vampire companion too when it's just slapped on top without a reason aside from "vampires are cool".

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Couldn't disagree more. Everyone is pretty much a basic human or some sort of mild effort "human+" already (with Lae'Zel the only notable exception).
I want more variety on the casting for potential companions.

Did you see the same thing that I saw ?

When you launch the animated schedule above (on twitter), in the first second, you can see :
* a shadowy hulking figure with horns (nighwalker ? big bad demon boss ?)
* and above... the shadow of Tiamat : 3 cloudy dragons heads and 2 other on sides...

smile

the lady with horns is Wyll's patron Mizora.

Yes, but I am talking of a more subtle image : before we see the companions, on the left

I've said it before - in fact, I suspect we've all said our lines before at this stage smile - but Astarion's status as a vampire spawn means that he uniquely has a rationale for controlling rather than dispensing with the tadpole, given it has given him freedom from his master and the ability to experience sunlight for the first time in centuries. We may or may not find that a compelling story, but there's certainly more reason than "vampires are cool".

But my apologies for digressing. If anyone does want to discuss companions in more detail, I'd suggest creating a new thread or resurrecting an old one on the topic, such as this one.

Also, vampires are cool. I like vampires. I even like vampire slash fiction. Not sorry.

I think it's just they did a mirror-symmetric image there. the mountain lines are the same but in different direction.

There is some kind of symetry, but there are several differences (obviously the clouds close to the mountain on the right are bigger than the clouds on the left, for example). Moreover, there are odds that Tiamat is involved to some extent in BG3 (pact for the red dragons), and Larian love subtle hints. But we'll see !

Why is Laezel always shown with a scimitar instead of a two-handed weapon?

Im wondering the same thing since her first artwork ...
Not just that she is allways showed with Scimitar, but she also holds that scimitar as versatile weapon (with both hands) ... wich (as far as i remember) it never was. :-/

Come on...
there is an animated version of the image above on twitter... and JUST before the companions appear (it lasts a split second), on the LEFT, in the middle, in red, you will see it.

I think whatever is going on with the clouds there has something to do with whatever structure they are directly above. It looks to me like heat or light is being jettisoned up into the air from either a mountain or a large structure and it’s disturbing the clouds.

I don't see anything either. What I do see in the outline before _not_ Mount Doom are black shadows in the shape of man with horns, possibly antlers.

Could either be a devil in the shadows or Myrkul himself.

it's a githyanki silver blade, so technically it's a great sword. https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Githyanki_silver_sword
