That would work for me, presented appropriately in game! I buy what folks have said about these hirelings being resurrected rather than undead, and as long as there’s a way to make sure it’s not (necessarily) indentured servitude either, then I’m happy. I personally am definitely up for soul coins being used for hirelings from Withers and think it introduces an interesting story/motivation and different economy for these than just using boring old gold to buy mercenaries who just want cash. Plus if it’s soul coins rather than gold then to me it would feel less like the aforementioned indentured servitude (if it were cash I feel it should go to the hirelings themselves rather than a third party). I can’t think why Withers (or Jergal) would need money to resurrect the dead but it might make sense that they need the soul coins to work round infernal contracts!

Anyway, I guess we’ll see whose preferences are satisfied when we get more details grin.

Gold is fine and less "alignment challenging"

Im expecting we can use the soul coins with a specific trader or special crafting.

I think I’d personally find the latter much more alignment challenging. If we can use the soul coins to buy the souls they represent out of servitude (or into our servitude if that’s the character we’re playing) that seems to me to make more ethical and moral sense than a use for trading or crafting that doesn’t have anything to do with the specific individual whose soul is in the balance.

But this is off topic speculation on something about which we have very little info, so I’ll stop doing it now!
