You guess correctly grin. If we get cloaks that display I definitely hope we get the option to hide them unless Larian do far better at avoiding issues with clipping than early access currently indicates.

Whereas having a shield on one's back can hide a multitude of clipping sins (including "sheathed" weapons poking through backs and bums, which is a problem with some character models in EA), which might be one more reason I'm for showing them but less so things like quivers and backpacks!

Right there is a superb chance for Larian to shine and to demonstrate that they are not a bunch of conservative old farts with a herd mentality.
And while there at it, they should be able to manage 3D object highlighting, as a beacon of progressive hope.

It has nothing to do with mentality and everything to do with resource and time priorities. If they can add sheaths for all of the blades weapons, great, but given everything else there is to do I can’t imagine this is high on their list of objectives. Rightfully so.

Oh no, run everyone! The priority police is here again!

Well, yes, everything is a matter of effort versus gains. But you appeared to be saying that they are not going to do sheaths because similar games don't have them.

Not quite. I said that y’all shouldn’t expect this game to have them by virtue of knowing that most game developers don’t bother with sheaths and therefore it’s widely understood to be a low priority across the medium.

Be great if they are included, though.

That would be even better indeed.

We talked about it here some time ago, and to my knowledge (and prefferences ofc) best idea was to give weapon slots option to appear on hip, or back, or being hidden ... so everyone can set it however they want.
For example i would really love for my Rogue to hide her daggers in her sleeves. :3

Not sure if the game would be reasonable enough to realize that shields or two handed weapons shouldnt be sheated on hip ... on the other hand tho, if some player really wants it that way, who the hell cares. laugh

It means that we should be allowed to discuss more than one thing we don't like about the game, regardless of how it ranks on your personal "priority chart" of "more important things to do", among other things.

I’ve never told anybody what they are or aren’t allowed to discuss.

Come on, folks. This is not an argument worth having. People are allowed to say whether or not a particular feature is a priority for them, and even to give their impression of whether or not it’s unlikely to be a priority for Larian. They’re also allowed to suggest or request a feature and talk about it even if some others don’t find it important. And I think that’s all that was happening here until we started getting meta. Let’s bring it back to the actual topic at hand.

I made a mod out of it.
Just try it and chill out grin

That said, weapon sheaths would be really awesome too.

Our characters lost the dangerous wild have to look like characters armored enough to roam the wild. Weapons / sheaths / quiver / (belt with potions)... and so on "dresses up" the model and I really like it. Shields are a very good step forward imo, but more visible items would suit my taste better.

The screenshot of Bannerlord on the previous page may not be totally free of visual bugs, but neither is BG3... and I guess mostly no one (except The Red Queen biggrin) really notice them because your eyes are not focussed on those details when you play.

I recently found a mod that allow our characters to wear bags in the "cloak" slots.
It does not work anymore if you download it from nexus (not updated) but I've been able to make it work on patch 9 and seriously : this is incredibly immersive !
Of course bags + quiver + 2 sets of weapons + shiels would be too much... But it was really interresting. I'll post a screenshot later to show you.
