I would have at one point too. But Minsc was datamined as one IIRC, and he was dropped as one and turned into a conventional companion, and Helia seems to have sorta quietly faded away. So Karlach, probably? IDK why we haven't even gotten a hint of further playable characters so close to release though. Unless it's some sort of huge hype bombshell they are holding till the last minute to drop before release, why keep all of that under wraps? It would have made much more sense if Minsc was still slotted to be a Origins, but he isn't, and they already announced him, and he was probably the returning party member with the biggest name recognition clout in regards to D&D since WOTC has turned him into something of a mini-mascot.
So while I expect Karlach, IDK about anyone else. And Karlach surely isn't *that* big a deal that she's being saved as a lastminute hype-builder.

Yeah, we already knew that Karlach and Minsc were coming (if you paid attention to the data mining) and Helia seems to have been replaced by Jaheira, which I’m cool with. Man, if it's true that Jaheira is coming in as a replacement for Helia I'd be massively disappointed. "A bard werewolf halfling" sounded a lot more interesting than "Here's that companion you never actually liked from the old game, AGAIN". Speak for yourself, Jaheira remains one of the best-written characters in the saga. It is true, though, that we'll have to see what Larian does with her since they are not among the best in terms of scriptwriting and writing.

My guess is that the armored male elf is Kehteric Thorm and this Gortash is the "handsome younger man". Larian already told us that they would reveal all three before release in a blog post.

So looks like Gorlash is indeed one of the three, but where’s Ketheric’s beard if the middle one is him, which I’d always assumed it would be?!

JK Simmons killing it with the delivery there. Really great VA work. My guess is that the armored male elf is Kehteric Thorm and this Gortash is the "handsome younger man". That’s probably an earlier, unfinished iteration of the model. Think of how many variations we have seen of Shadowheart and Karlach (and imagine how many we haven’t seen).

Apparently a Klingon. Or a Tauren from WoW. Klingon would make more sense since we already have spaceships. I just don't think a nautiloid would stand much of a chance against a Klingon Bird of Prey. :P

With apologies to crst, I’ve just moved their post and replies about Gortash here, as it seems a more relevant thread for the discussion.

Ideally, an elf shouldn't grow any facial hair.

Ideally, an elf shouldn't grow any facial hair. There was only one Cirdan D&D elves don’t have all that much resemblance to Tolkien elves. Tolkien elves (in the books) don’t even have pointed ears. They are just described as very tall, attractive people.
