Nope.

Come on...
there is an animated version of the image above on twitter... and JUST before the companions appear (it lasts a split second), on the LEFT, in the middle, in red, you will see it.
I think you are just overthinking about those things. nothing animated in the background. you really get confused over a symmetry image. there is no Tiamat here. it's the githyanki riders with red dragons.

I see nothing special on the left.

Thanks for the image.

This Rorschach is fun. Now, looking closer at *not* mount doom on the center left of the screen. I see a devil in at the base of the mountain, the dead three "erupting" out of the volcano and a planetar above them in different shades of blue.

I might be overly pessimistic on that image but it looks like a rushed mirroring job to enlarge the image. Maybe they needed this announcement in another specific aspect ratio for some reason?

it's just a symmetric image. really nothing special.

The funny thing is that :
* It is very likely that we are going to explore Avernus (where Tiamat resides)
* And "A small contingent of red dragons served high-ranking githyanki as mounts and companions, following a treaty established with Tiamat early on in their history"
* Minsc is a Knight of Bahamut (sworn enemy of Tiamat)
* There are sometimes very symmetric representation of Tiamat too on the internet... it just exists
So it is also very likely there will be anyway a connexion with Tiamat at some point in the game
Maybe it is a symmetry effect... and maybe it is a way to foreshadow Tiamat...

I think Larian has just stumbled upon a new way to get feedback. It should release more Rorschach images and ask "what do you see" and this will tell them what fans really what to see in the game.

serious talk. I think they are going to reveal the city itself this time. https://twitter.com/Cromwelp/status/1666453467894882309?s=20

Released 9 hours ago a clip of the Guardian of Faith spell and Guardian is personalized with the Embelem of your God! Coolest looking spell so far.

So far, we have had several shots of the city of Baldur's Gate :

* A global view of the city in the trailer (which is, according to Swen, actually what the city "looks like in the game. We showed a sneak peek, that's not the entirety of the city that we showed")
* A shot of what seems to be the outer city (with the advert for the carnival on the big board, another subtle hint, foreshadowed here : https://baldursgate3.wiki.fextralife.com/The+Folly+and+the+Fall )
* A view of the Wide (market place), in the trailer of statue Minsc

We already know half a dozen buildings which will be present thanks to interactions with NPCs or books (mentioning also our beloved sewers), and most buildings detailed into "Descent into Avernus" should be here as well.
We can also guess that Little Calimshan (in the outer city) will be well represented (on the map of Baldur's gate in game, it appears quite clearly), maybe with Oasis Theater.

This time we are in for some close-up of the city !

it's a githyanki silver blade, so technically it's a great sword. https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Githyanki_silver_sword
My theory has been that she's going to be a dex fighter in the final release. If you think about it, both Karlach and Minsc seem designed to be strength-based frontliners, so she'd fill that niche quite well. Probably made her str-based for EA since if she wasn't, there'd be no str-combatants for your party to recruit.

In fact I could do without a vampire companion too when it's just slapped on top without a reason aside from "vampires are cool".

Couldn't disagree more. Everyone is pretty much a basic human or some sort of mild effort "human+" already (with Lae'Zel the only notable exception).
I want more variety on the casting for potential companions.
Variety is always good, but everyone is a bit "extra" to my liking so far. It's more about backstory than race. Larian should focus more on companion personality than coming up with more and more extravagant backstories for them.

I hope they reveal more companions soon. We need a larger cast of characters.

I am excited about Bg3 and Alan Wake 2 from the Summer Game Fest Livestream today.

Although I am not sure when BG3 will have its spot, there doesn't seem to be an actual schedule.

I’m curious about Alan Wake 2. I never played the original and have only a rough understanding about the type of game it is. Survival horror isn’t normally my cup of tea as they often tend to be kind of gross in a way I find very off putting, but AW2 doesn’t seem like it’s that sort of game, so I’m going to follow it and see if it’s something more my speed.

Yay for a new BG3 trailer today!!! celebrate

I am also looking forward to seeing more about Alan Wake 2. I didn’t play the first one but liked Control a lot and so am looking forward to Alan Wake 2! I like the idea of a Remedy Connected Universe!
