I've read players state how simple and streamlined 5e is... To me there's plenty of complexity for new players to learn.
I mean... if this were 5e, then it WOULD be clear and simple: it does what is says on the bottle, which also describes its duration and any other relevant details.
Effects are each independent and all stack with each other unless they explicitly say otherwise or are identical effects - in which case the strongest version, or longest duration if they are the same strength, is the one you have.
Unfortunately, BG3 is not 5e, and Larian have made it more unnecessarily complex, obtuse and opaque than it needs to be in several areas.
