Bcs we know most things about Ketheric from EA ...
This is completely new character.

I dunno how to describe it, it just feels ... dunno, lesser ... video feels shorter (maybe its just my imagination tho, i didnt bother to compare them) ... article is certainly shorter ...
And overall, i dont really feel like we know anything aboout Gortash except that he have robots and influence in Baldur's Gate.

About Ketheric on the other hand, we know when he lived (aproximately) what he did, why he did that, whats his tragic backstory, that he server different deity, and what kind (read as class) of enemy he will be.

The video and article were longer because they were also covering other stuff about controller support and mechanical stuff, plus revealing the release date. And the article was mostly full of details about the collector's edition. If you look at the part about just Kethric, the article says basically nothing. As far as what we know about Kethric from the game, I've played EA several times and only ever really known that he was a guy who waged war and worshipped Shar. Literally nothing else.

These trailers aren't for our benefit either. They were put out at massive game showcases where lots of new people would see them. Their purpose is to attract interest in other people. You are in basically the same boat as the millions of gamers at the showcase that may have never even heard of BG3 before now. In fact, you're still better off because you have context for the game and where he might sort of fit in. In light of that, going light on spoilers makes perfect sense. But you're right that this trailer was lesser. Nothing of interest besides this random dude and his plot, that isn't even the main plot of the game. This trailer really was not well chosen for the job it had to do.
