After watching a few videos about this character, I had this theory that Gortash could be more (VERY MUCH MORE) than he seems.
[/spoiler]A lot of people (special mention to WolfheartsFPS and Spell&Shield XD) are linking Gortash with the archdevil Gargauth, demigod of betrayal and corruption, whom, for those who don´t know, appeared in the DND adventure descent into Avernus, traped in a magic shield. Well, what if Gortash, rather than be a worshipper of Gargauth, is the arcdevil himself, their names sound very similar to be just a coincidence. My theory is that Gargauth found a way out of the shield turning into a human being (it´s not the first god of Faerun turned into humnoid) and now is searching for a way to attain godhood again, plotting with the Dead Three/Absolute and the mind flayers. What do you guys think?[spoiler]
