Maybe I'm not good at following the news. Tell me, are Lorian planning to release books, comics or a cartoon based on the game?!
AFAIK such stuff is almost invariable produced by the franchise owner - or a license taker, so that's up WotC's alley.
IMO any books and comics would definitely be produced by WotC, not that I'd expect Larian to have capacity to make those.
No idea about Larian's capability to produce cartoons in bulk.
In other words - tie ins are possible, but not likely to be made by Larian.
