Do you think Sussar bark would disrupt the Steel Watchers? I just replayed the arcane tower in the underdark and noticed some of the animated armor that fight with Bernard actually tell you if you examine them, that they'd be rendered inactive if you had Sussar bark near them. Just curious if that could be a unique way for players to disrupt them. Though, I guess the Sussar is withered in sunshine so it would only work for an underground battle you can fast travel to. Just a thought.

Just a thought. The Sussar bloom works on the mechanical men in the tower, but it becomes inert in sunlight. You know I hadn't put the constructs and Enver together before now. We know Lenore disappeared returning to BG, too.

Do you think Sussar bark would disrupt the Steel Watchers? I just replayed the arcane tower in the underdark and noticed some of the animated armor that fight with Bernard actually tell you if you examine them … You know I hadn't put the constructs and Enver together before now. We know Lenore disappeared returning to BG, too. Me neither, and now it’s pointed out I don’t know why not! I think the Steel Watchers even have some visual similarities with Bernard and gang, at least when it comes to ornate metalwork, though Bernard is more humanoid shaped and faced as befits a companion robot. I don’t think I’ve looked at his friends closely before. And now I’m racking my brains trying to recall what we know of those arcane tower constructs. I think I’d just assumed Lenore created them without giving it much thought. But she’s a cleric of Mystra and mycologist, so it may or may not be in her skill set. Whereas we know her lover, Yrre, is a maker of many things electrical. Perhaps Yrre made the constructs to keep Lenore safe and connected while they weren’t around, or Yrre and Lenore made them together with Yrre providing the technical expertise and Lenore the magical. And as you say Sozz, we know from finding the note Lenore left for Yrre that she’d gone to Baldur’s Gate intending to be back soon but hadn’t returned. I don’t think we know whether Yrre ever saw the note or whether they may have gone missing even before that? Was there an implication they were overdue when Lenore left? Are we certain from what we’ve seen that Gortash created the Watchers, or might he be coercing (or just paying) Lenore and/or Yrre to do so? Or could he have stolen or otherwise extracted the secret of their making from them? Or perhaps he knows Lenore and was involved in the creation of her constructs. Either way, she or Yrre might know how to stop them and might be involved in any quest we undertake to do so. Total speculation of course, but I’ve been hoping we’ll find out more about Lenore and Yrre in the full game, and do like the idea that they may be more connected to events driving the main plot than I’d previously considered. Hmmm.

Hmmm. As far as I remember, Bernard was created specifically to keep Leonore company in place of the absent Yrre. Therefore, he also hugs you vicariously, if desired. In any case, what we can deduce from the Arcane Tower is its function as a control center with a certain radius for the constructs. The connection between Yrre, Lenore and Gortash will definitely be exciting to find out.

Yes, Yrre is probably the one making all the constructs, Yrre is also a gnome I think possibly working him and Lenore into the Gnome subplot going on in BG. Odd that he would work a suicide protocol into Bernard though.

Odd that he would work a suicide protocol into Bernard though. Just as an aside, Yrre is a gnome, but I'm not sure about "he". At least since patch 9, the English language pronoun I've noticed being used in the tooltip (eg for the Spellsparkler) is "they", implying either that Yrre's gender is being left deliberately vague until later in the game or that they're non-binary . Btw having just looked at the Spellsparkler tooltip again to confirm my recollection about the pronoun used, I notice it says that Yrre made the staff for Lenore who was an old lover, but when they returned to Lenore's tower they found it abandoned and dusty. And I was curious to see what Lenore's note to Yrre said and fortunately had an old save from nearby. To save anyone else having to do the same, it's dated 2 Alturiak 1481 DR so ~12 years before BG3 starts (the date only shows in the tooltip, not when the letter is opened which is an annoying thing I hope will be fixed in the full release), and basically says she's not sure if Yrre will return and she misses them and still loves them "despite everything" and wishes she'd not been so stubborn. She says she'll only be gone a few tendays and asks Yrre to wait. Then overleaf there's an addendum, presumably from Yrre, saying that they did wait until Tarsahk and would always wait.

IMO the golems are kinda silly ... Star Wars at its worst ... While I find the unshaved Authority Figure offputting. I loved the ship repurposed as tavern, though! Gortash - Jindosh. Rather than Starwars, I see some easter eggs from Dishonored here .

Is it me or does Enver look like the aging lead singer from some New Romantics band from yesteryear?
I'm not a fan of robots generally and certainly not in my fantasy rpgs but his character and his place in the scheme of things is intriguing.
