Larian, did you just lure in all Disco Elysium fans?
Anyway, I don't see an anchor on the houseboat. Suspicious.

Where did the anchor come from? Probably from the Fisher's Wharf

Cast "Speak with Dead" on the victim and ask them 1) who killed them and 2) why? The guy just died. Why not ressurect him? Surely there is some non profit in Baldur's Gate that could help out? Murder in Forgotten Realms is likely to be a minor misdemeanor.

Murder in Forgotten Realms is likely to be a minor misdemeanor. Resurrection is a really expensive process. I'm sure there's clerics in Baldur's Gate with enough power to do it, but I doubt there's some kindly soul rich enough to provide the massive, expensive diamonds required for the ceremony. Especially since the city sounds like a pretty rough, cutthroat place.

I'm going with Canary Lane. It feels a bit more immediate than the other locations.

Loving this game. It's really helping me to familiarize myself with the city before launch date.

I hope they implemented the bounty hunter background and that this forum game also became or will become an ingame questline.

I hope they implemented the bounty hunter background and that this forum game also became or will become an ingame questline. Like setting up an in-game canon bounty hunter version of Tav? Giving the custom character a shared background that the writers can work from? As in, much of what's happening goes back to that old case you worked on... fifteen years ago. If that were the case, I think it would be really impressive.

I mentioned it bcs it would also be a great immersive opportunity for an inspiration goal. And I would find it very exciting to get a self co-designed ingame quest based on our forum interaction.

Drusilla is giving me big Green Hag vibes --lives next to the water, her floating home is decorated exactly like Auntie Ethel's teahouse, and the anchor through the heart sounds like an Auntie Ethel wish gone wrong for the wisher. Wild theorizing here:
The elf bard visited Drusilla, and said that he was ready to settle down from his vagabonding, to feel anchored. Drusilla granted his wish.

I'm going with Canary Lane. It feels a bit more immediate than the other locations. That was my thinking too. The pub and the morgue don't feel quite as time-sensitive, but I'm still curious about that retching man. I wonder how long he'll stay there? Or indeed if he's still there now and saw the thief! And I'm also hoping we'll get to the Blushing Mermaid soon to see if it does now indeed have a boat sticking out of it, or if the place we see in the latest trailers is somewhere else. It's really helping me to familiarize myself with the city before launch date. That's a good point. I agree!

Loving this game. It's really helping me to familiarize myself with the city before launch date. I was thinking exactly the same, it's a brilliant idea to help us discover the new city / main areas. Drusilla is giving me big Green Hag vibes --lives next to the water, her floating home is decorated exactly like Auntie Ethel's teahouse, and the anchor through the heart sounds like an Auntie Ethel wish gone wrong for the wisher. Oh yes, or even a sea hag I was of course curious about Canary Lane and the Blushing Mermaid, but I tried the retching man, again

Yeah, I'm also a little worried about the timing with the retching man, and I do want to have that conversation if it's still available.
With the thief down Canary Lane, I'm guessing it's probably someone who either knew the victim or the killer, or was somehow associated. Which would be a great opportunity to get a little background information.

I read on a youtube comment someone's guess about this game. It goes on right up until the time of the upcoming Panel. So the events of this game lead up to that presentation. Since the last two major things have been Ketheric and Gortash, it's reasonable to think this might be the reveal of the third chosen of the Absolute.
I think the overall idea is that Ketheric is associated with Myrkul. Gortash is representing Bane, and finally, the third antagonist to be revealed, is the representation--agent, if you will--of Bhaal.

I even bet the third is a kind of shadar-kai assassin/soul monger

Which would be a great opportunity to get a little background information. I was trying to work out from the pic whether what the thief had stolen might have been the elven engraved coin pouch that had been attached to the victim's belt. If so, the crime may have simply been opportunistic, or as you say the thief may be connected somehow to the murder and the pouch was significant in some way we hadn't previously noticed. Or they might have stolen something else entirely . I read on a youtube comment someone's guess about this game. It goes on right up until the time of the upcoming Panel. Voted for the Blushing Mermaid. Wasnât sure if the thief was related to the murder or not, and so picked the more solid lead to hopefully prevent another murder!
