Not entirely surprised about the thief, though I also still think it was a reasonable decision to chase given it was a now or never opportunity and there was at least a possibility that he was a murderer or murderer's accomplice returning to the scene of the crime to finish a theft or remove evidence that would become relevant later.
But given the retching man has buggered off (darn it!) I agree that there's nothing that now looks really time-sensitive so the best thing to do is go to the morgue and find out what we can about the victim and any evidence on the body to help focus our investigation.
Hopefully it'll lead us to the Blushing Mermaid the next day, as I really want to see if it's that ship pub as well now to get my almiraj paw back. What's an almiraj? Oh, I see it's a kind of fae rabbit unicorn thing!
