ahoy!! DAD, u're one misunderstood guy. maybe u can try another approach, one without too much words for people to swallow. meanings usually get lost among crowds of words.

hey guys, i think DAD's trying to say that he prefers playing not as a character with amnesia, which is typical of most RPGs. it'll be better for him to play as a character whose background/history is already established. take warcraft 3 as an example though it is never/lite RPG. we have this character named arthas & he's a prince. through trials & sacrifice for his people & ultimately for revenge, he lost his soul & became evil.

still, i think riftrunner won't be what DAD is looking for; character with fleshed out history/background. maybe the only thing we get is that the character is one of the council members for the divine one.
